I-Vy Leaders is a unique program that focuses on launching teens and young adults into life. The program focuses on 14 to 26 year olds. We work with each patient one-on-one to create an action plan that works for them. With the implementation of the Affordable Healthcare, individuals with bleeding disorders are able to buy insurance. As a result, they are able to develop a career path that works for them instead of having to find a path that would provide insurance. Starting in 2020 we began an I-Vy Leaders Scholarship Program to support these goals. Learn more about the Scholarship Program below.

The I-Vy Leaders Scholarship Track is now easier than ever and on Google Classroom.

As part of the BDFW’s goal to assist young adults with bleeding disorders in successfully transitioning to adulthood, we are excited to introduce our I-Vy Leader College Scholarship Program! The BDFW is proud to announce that starting in 2020 we will be providing $500-$1,000 college scholarships for I-Vy Leaders who show initiative and engagement by volunteering and participating at BDFW programs and community events!

The I-Vy Leader Scholarship is now on Google Classroom and can be earned with the completion of various volunteering opportunities that can be done in-person or virtually. An I-Vy Leader must complete the program on Google Classroom, by joining the classroom, filling out a sign-up form, completing 6 points in volunteering and completing the Scholarship Application.

Scholarships can be applied toward one or more of the following:

  • School Tuition

  • Trade School Classes

  • Textbooks/school supplies

  • Education-related living expenses (meal plans, on-campus living)

  • Approved Work Related Education or Certificates, i.e. CPR training, workshops, etc

I-Vy Leaders are eligible for an annual BDFW college scholarship. The I-Vy Leader is eligible to apply for one year of scholarship per year of services starting at age 14. The same requirements must be met each year in order to be eligible for another scholarship.

The BDFW’s goal through this scholarship program is to encourage our I-Vy Leaders to see the benefit of giving back to the bleeding disorder community and staying connected with fellow I-Vy Leaders and community members. We also hope that this scholarship program promotes volunteering and leadership skills. The I-Vy Leaders program provides countless opportunities for volunteer hours for high school and college, letters of recommendation and references for employment opportunities. The added bonus is that being an I-Vy Leader looks great on a college application or to a future employer.
